Since the opening of the Gyeongbu High Speed Railway in 2004, KTX has firmly established itself as a national key artery. The number of railway users, which had been declining since peaking in the 1990s, has steadily increased since the opening of KTX, and now an average of 180,000 passengers ride high-speed rail daily. As the number of railway users increased, the needs for railway services have diversified and deepened, and the expectations of users have also increased.
As a result, it is time for railway service and operation strategy to be newly reestablished in line with the user's level of interest. Through this seminar, the Korean Railroad Society and the Korea Transport Research Institute will proactively respond to demand by anticipating the future conditions of railway use and establish a service level from the viewpoint of users.
