The KOTI (President Oh Jaehak) held a public hearing on the ‘3rd Master Plan for Vehicle Administration’ promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute (KATRI) of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS) in the conference room on the 2nd floor of the KOTI at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, September 27th. The Master Plan for Vehicle Administration is for the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to present the national vehicle administration direction for the next five years in accordance with the 「Motor Vehicle Management Act」, and the KOTI has performed research services from April 2021 and prepared the master plan (draft) after collecting opinions from industry and experts in order to establish the 3rd Master Plan for Vehicle Administration. In particular, the plan was focused on discovering tasks to preemptively and proactively response to the transition to future vehicles such as autonomous driving and electric and hydrogen vehicles, in preparation for the recent paradigm shift in the automobile industry, and to prepare a vehicle safety and management system that meets the consumer's heightened expectations for public safety.
