The “Symposium on Railway Competitiveness Improvement” was held at The-K Seoul Hotel on June 19. KOTI organized the event under the auspices of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT). KOTI President KIM Gyeng Chul and Vice MOLIT Minister YEO Hyung-gu delivered the opening address and the congratulatory speech, respectively.
The following four keynote speeches were delivered at the symposium: "European Rail Policy - British Experience" by Christopher NASH (University of Leeds), "Horizontal Separation and Regulatory Policy in Japan" by Fumitoshi MIZUTANI (Kobe University), "German Rail Policy" by Birgitta WORRINGEN (The Federal Ministry of Transport), and "Railway Competitiveness Improvement of Korea" by LEE Jae-hoon (Director of the KOTI Department of Railway Research).
