KOTI and Sejong Community Media Center Host Media Experience Program, ‘Create Your Own Traffic News’
KOTI (President Kim Young-chan), in collaboration with the Sejong Community Media Center (SCMC) under the Korea Communications Media Foundation (KCMF), hosted a media experience program titled “Create Your Own Traffic News” from April 29 to 30.
The event was designed for second-graders from Daepyeong Elementary School in Sejong-si, providing them with a hands-on opportunity to explore the full cycle of media production—from planning and reporting to editing and presenting—on traffic-related topics. Through this immersive experience, students were able to develop foundational media literacy and creative communication skills.
A total of 126 students participated in the program, assuming various roles such as news anchors, reporters, traffic experts, and weather forecasters. They produced and presented news segments focused on the city’s autonomous buses and roundabout systems.
Moving forward, the KOTI and the SCMC will jointly develop and operate a wide range of programs designed to nurture creative talent, by providing youth with hands-on opportunities in science, technology, and media.
