The 11th KOTI Mobility Colloquium (Generative AI and Mobility Data) Held
The Korea Transport Institute (KOTI, President Youngchan Kim) held the 11th KOTI Mobility Colloquium on April 9, where participants explored the future of mobility services driven by innovations in transportation technology and discussed the ways to identify key R&D topics required for this transformation.
The event was attended by KOTI President Kim Youngchan, KOTI Vice President of Research Departments Park Kyungah as well as Kim Youngkook (Research Fellow), Lee Seungbong and Park Sangmin Park (Associate Research Fellows), Professor Kim Inhi ( KAIST), Professor Kim Euijin (Ajou University), and Professor Kim Jinhee (Yonsei University).
The first presentation was delivered by Professor Kim Inhi from KAIST, who introduced case studies on scenario generation and data augmentation using generative AI, as well as efforts to convert household travel surveys into complete census data. Following this, Professor Kim Euijin from Ajou University presented on rapid and precise travel data prediction using generative AI, proposing a strategy to adapt generalized methodologies specifically for transportation challenges. Lastly, Professor Kim Jinhee from Yonsei University emphasized the necessity of AI-based behavioral analysis using household travel surveys and mobile data, highlighting the importance of communication data-based demand estimation and data labeling.
