KOTI Held the 16th President Kim Young-chan Inauguration Ceremony
"We will become an institution that can lead the transportation technology field and the right transportation culture together."
The Korea Transportation Research Institute held the inauguration ceremony of the 16th director Kim Young-chan at 10:30 a.m. on June 3 in the grand auditorium of the Sejong National Research Complex.
Director Kim Young-chan was appointed as the 16th president of the Korea Transportation Research Institute at the 358th board meeting of the Economic and Humanities and Social Research Society (NRC) under the Prime Minister on May 30.
The term of office of the new chairman is three years (2024.5.30~2027.5.29).
Director Kim Young-chan said at the inauguration ceremony, "The Korea Transportation Research Institute is already playing a leading role in the national transportation policy," adding, "In the future, we will make new attempts not only for national transportation policy but also to strengthen research in the field of comprehensive transportation technology and establish a transportation culture that further improves public transportation safety."
He then encouraged the employees, saying, "Let's be together so that we can become warm organizational culture and always study members in the harmony of research and management."
Director Kim Young-chan served as a professor of transportation engineering in University of Seoul after serving as a bachelor's and master's degrees in urban engineering at Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in transportation engineering at Texas A&M University. He also served as president of the Korea Transportation Association, president of the Korea ITS Association, and member of the National Transportation Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
