The Roles of the Center for Privately Financed Highway Management

According to the Revised Toll Road Act, the Korea Transport Institute was preliminarily designated as a Privately Financed Highway Management Support Center in August 2018. After undergoing initial preparation, the Management Support Center was opened in January of this year. The Center is scheduled to carry out the tasks set forth by the Revised Toll Road Act for the next five years. For this purpose, it has been organized and structured in teams with the following primary duties and responsibilities: the Contract and Vendor Management Team Team, Operation Evaluation Team, Toll Management Team, and Planning & General Affairs Team. Each team will focus on the jobs specified and described in Article 7.2 of Title 23 of the Revised Toll Road Act (see Figure 1).
