The Dept. of Highway, ITS and Safety Research is engaged in extensive highway policy and technology research and provides logical grounds and objective data for central and local governments responsible for arterial road construction and operation. Other activities include research on ITS technology, transport safety measures, disaster prevention, and bicycles with the mission of improving the road sustainability, improving Korea's road efficiency, and developing policies to protect the Korean citizenry from disasters
